Where To Go For Happy Hour in LA After Work


Location: Venice

Happy Hour: Wed-Sun, 5 PM-6 PM

Located on Abbot Kinney in the heart of Venice, ATLA is a casual all-day eatery offering simple yet inventive takes on Mexican cuisine. While Abbot Kinney isn't known for being cheap, your wallet will find some relief at this upscale Mexican spot in Venice for an hour.

Everson Royce Bar

Location: Arts District

Happy Hour: Tue–Thurs 4–6PM; Sat- Sun 2-6 PM

This Arts District watering hole is one of our favorites downtown, with a great, casual energy ideal for anything from after work drinks to a midweek dinner. Once you push past the nondescript Arts District entrance, you'll be welcomed into the neighborhood bar of your dreams. Great drinks, stylish bar interior, large patio, and access to one of the city's best burgers (which is also on their happy hour menu).

The Misfit

Location: Santa Monica

One of the most famous Santa Monica restaurants, The Misfit, is the epitome of timeless hipness. Housed in the ground floor of the iconic Clock Tower Building, the restaurant’s two-story height locale is mere blocks from the beach, meeting the corner of the pulsating Third Street Promenade on Santa Monica Boulevard. The Misfit also welcomes patrons of all ages before 5pm (great spot for parents!).

Located on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, Gracias Madre has won people over with its creative plant-based Mexican dishes, extensive tequila and mezcal selection, and one of the best outdoor courtyards in L.A. During weekday happy hour, the restaurant's tequila stock is put to good use with refreshing margaritas that have a hint of sweetness from agave and some bite from orange bitters.

This is the kind of place you can go to with coworkers, castmates, or by yourself for a quick bite after work and walk out satisfied. This massive outdoor space in the heart of the North Hollywood Arts District has a huge craft beer list, a bar food menu with Swedish meatballs, and a dog-friendly patio that fills up around 5pm. The Normandie Club

Location: Koreatown

The Normandie is a moody cocktail lounge in the Hotel Normandie that serves up creative drinks in a stylish setting. Picture well-dressed people drinking cocktails and discussing experimental theater. The space isn’t large (and it gets crowded), so this isn’t the spot to go with a big group of coworkers. It’s a great stop for a midweek date in a sexy little booth, before a big night out, or to grab a solo drink after a day at the office.

This firehouse-turned-restaurant has one of the best patios on the Eastside, and it's the perfect place to stop by for a quick sip and bite to eat after a long day of work. Accented with fresh flower arrangements, cozy armchairs, antique sconces and walls of old black and white photos, the setting has the potential to make single diners and large groups alike feel like they are home.

La Cuevita is a new, Old World Mexican grotto set in the heart of the Highland Park. It's decked out in vintage Mexican-themed trimmings, and has a spacious outdoor patio. The bar showcases an impressive selection of tequilas and mescals while also featuring the same type of distinctive concoctions and spirits that the 1933 Group team has become known for around the city.
