Connect + Create: Open Mic Poetry + Social Mixer

This event is part poetry night, part social mixer, brought to you by Poetry Peace and The Next Fun Thing.

The goal is to connect with the people in the room, not just the performances. You’ll meet others early in a curated setting, so by the time the open mic begins, the room already feels familiar.

Perfect for anyone coming solo, looking to meet new people, or wanting a more interactive take on a poetry night.

Agenda

• 6:00 PM: Check in, grab a drink, make a name tag, and answer our Question of the Night.
• 6:30 PM: Curated Connection Rounds Begin. We’ll start with curated small groups of people you have things in common with, based on a short profile you complete at checkout (more details below).
• 7:20 PM: Open Mic Begins. The room shifts into a live open mic experience hosted with Poetry Peace. Expect poetry, stories, and spoken word from a mix of voices. Some polished, some in progress, all welcome
• After the Mic: The space opens back up. Reconnect with people you met earlier, meet someone new, grab another drink, and stay as long as you would like.

Good to Know

• Come solo or with a friend. Many people arrive on their own
• No pressure to perform, but you are welcome to sign up if you feel inspired
• Drinks will be available throughout the night
• Expect a large, lively room with plenty of opportunities to connect

How the Curated Rounds Work

• After you grab your ticket, you will fill out a short profile so we can get to know you a bit.
• When you arrive, we use that to place you into small groups with people you are likely to click with. Groups are 4 to 5 people, with three rounds and conversation starters to keep things flowing.
• You will meet close to 15 new people before the open mic begins, so by the time the performances start, you will already recognize a few faces.
