Here are 10 restaurants that take online reservations for groups up to at least 10 (that’s right, no need to call the restaurant!), have a menu to suit every palette, and aren’t too loud to catch the latest gossip from a few seats down.
Bowery Bungalow
Location: Silver Lake
Middle East meets Mediterranean cuisine at this Silver Lake gem. The menu will suit vegetarians, pescetarians, and omnivores with a range of small and large plates, although on the pricier side. The ambiance is a bit romantic and quiet, and the small spaces (indoor and outdoor) feel cozy rather than crowded. The only downside is that there’s no dedicated parking lot, and street parking can be hard to find in this neighborhood.
Guelaguetza
Location: Harvard Heights / Koreatown
This popular Oaxacan restaurant is excellent for groups seeking a fun, colorful atmosphere. Known for their stellar mole, the menu offers a range of plates, drinks, and desserts to suit a crowd. In the evenings, sit inside for a lively experience - perhaps including some live music - or grab patio seating for a quieter evening.
Luminarias
Location: Monterey Park
Equipped with excellent views of the San Gabriel Valley, be sure to get a table on the patio at this New American restaurant. The menu ranges from oysters to empanadas to burgers, so there’s sure to be something for everyone. Last but certainly not least, the restaurant has its own parking lot so there’ll be no circling the block looking for a spot.
BO-beau Kitchen & Roof Tap
Location: Long Beach
Despite its popularity, this boho restaurant manages to accommodate large groups and keep their noise level down inside and on the lovely rooftop patio. The menu features fan favorites ranging from chicken wings to baked brie. There are also plenty of photo opportunities in the beautiful space to capture the memory!
Marouch
Location: East Hollywood
This family-owned restaurant has been serving Lebanese, Armenian, and Middle Eastern cuisine since 1982. Usually not too crowded, the inviting interior is a great place to slide a few tables together under an archway and share a few of the delicious, affordable plates among your friend group.
Vita Italian Bar & Grill
Locatino: Pomona
With high ceilings, light colors, and mountain views, this restaurant feels spacious even when it’s full, perfect for groups who don’t want to feel overcrowded. Looking for even more space? Check out the enormous outdoor seating area. Between the spaciousness, top notch service, and delicious Italian dishes, it’s a great place to gather with friends.
Manila Inasal
Location: Silver Lake
Bringing modern Filipino food to an open space, this restaurant is a great place to get together with a group. Catch up with your friends between mouthfuls of authentic chicken inasal and garlic rice. Even when there’s live music, many nights of the week, it isn’t so loud that you can’t hear across the table. Even better, there’s a small lot with an underground level in the strip mall where this is located.
Marmalade Cafe
Location: Fairfax
There are several locations of this cafe, but the Original Farmer’s Market location is a fan favorite, especially for brunch or happy hour (3-6pm). The indoor seating is classy and spacious, and patio seating features long booth/table seating perfect for groups. The menu is chock-full of people-pleasing dishes like french toast, eggs benedict, and chicken pot pie.
Caló Kitchen & Tequila
Location: El Segundo
This family owned and operated Mexican restaurant has the look and feel of a stylish neighborhood staple. With two floors and a patio, there’s plenty of seating options for your crowd, and the staff are extra accommodating to larger groups. So, sit back and enjoy a margarita with your chisme.
The Corner
Location: Glendale
This newly renovated, stylish spot is a must-try for group brunch. Relax in the comfy seating and catch up over mimosas. Plus, you can’t go wrong with the brunch menu, which is wide enough to suit all your friends’ tastes. There’s a small lot where you might snag a spot if you’re lucky, but there’s also street parking available.
