Whether you’re skipping the Ren Faire this year or just can’t get enough, we’ve gathered the best local spots to live your magical dreams year-round.
The Witch’s Cottage
- Location: North Hollywood
- This brand new spot is a hub for witches, fairies, elves, and all other creatures seeking an immersive fantasy-themed space. Cafe by day, restaurant and bar by night, there’s even an event space and a D&D tavern. What’s even more magical is that the space was artistically transformed by the owners along with nearly 200 volunteers - everywhere you look there’s something made by a local to admire!
Tarot Arts
- Location: South Pasadena
- If you’re even remotely interested in tarot, it’s time for a visit to this magical shop where you can browse hundreds of beautifully drawn tarot decks along with other magical items like incense, teas, and books. This welcoming shop also hosts tarot reading workshops and community events like tarot “show ‘n’ tell.”
The Crooked Path
- Location: Burbank
- One of the top metaphysical shops in the county, this local gem offers everything your typical witch might need - candles, crystals, herbs, books, and more. There are even spell kits for the busy witches and baby witches! To top it off, they also offer frequent workshops, classes, and events for everything from Witchcraft 101 to a Hellenic Beltane Rite of Dark Bloom (we don’t know what it is either but it sounds cool as hell).
The Cauldron
- Location: Buena Park
- Although it’s a little out of the way for most LA folks - unless you’re going to Disneyland or Knott’s Berry Farm anyway - this witchy restaurant and bar is worth the drive. This is the kind of place where the shadow of a black cat sneaks across the bar and the mirror watches you back.
Pan’s Apothika
- Location: East Hollywood
- Previously known as Panpipes, this apothecary (and more) has been around since 1971. Shop magical tools and ingredients or request a custom anointed candle, oil blend, spell bag, or small batch incense. You can also get a tarot reading on Wednesday-Saturday afternoons.
Secret Forest LA
- Location: Burbank
- Step into a cozy magical forest built with the purpose of sparking wonder and creativity. Relax by a babbling water feature under the “stars,” explore your creativity with games and crafts, or play a game with a friend. Visit for free Friday-Sunday afternoon.
Requiem Cafe
- Location: Anaheim
- Climb into a tree hollow with a boba in hand, claim the throne at the head of a D&D campaign, or snag a gaming console and sofa to pass the time. It’s all possible at this immersive fantasy cafe. Watch for themed collaborations like Final Fantasy XIV this year from April 17-May 17.
Star Magic Tarot
- Location: Roaming (Larchmont, West Hollywood, Venice, Silver Lake)
- Listen up, 90s babies - there’s a new magic school bus in town. Step into this relatively unassuming bus to find yourself in a garden-style apothecary. Check out the shop, have your tarot read, or align your energy with a reiki session. Just don’t ask for a ride to school.
Enchanted Escape Room
- Location: Northridge, North Hollywood
- As the name suggests, most of the escape rooms here are, well…enchanted! For their most fairytale-style rooms, check out the Enchanted Forest and Spellbound rooms in Northridge, or the Belly of the Beast and Enchanted Castle in North Hollywood.
Psychic Eye
- Location: Sherman Oaks
- Since 1985, this book shop’s flagship Sherman Oaks location has been serving LA with magical items and services. Check it out - along with their annex next door - for occult books, eccentric clothing, oddities, and all things metaphysical. They also offer psychic readings and astrology services.
The Obscure
- Location: Arts district
- A magical distillery and cocktail tasting experience. Step into a hidden realm where cocktails are crafted like spells and every pour reveals a story. This guided tasting features six drinks, including house-distilled spirits and original creations brought to life through myth and legend. With live artists, experimental flavors, and an enchanting atmosphere, the experience feels part performance, part ritual.
Bonus: Magical Events
Magic Market Pop Ups
- Location: Pasadena
- Date: April 18-19
- Find 75 magical vendors at this recurring pop-up market, typically located at (the magical) Heritage Square Museum. Meet all your magical needs with sellers of candles, crystals, and witch supplies, and enjoy the sound baths, tarot, astrology, free workshops, and live music. The next pop-up takes place in April.
