Happy new year! We’ve compiled local resources to help kickstart the top 7 new year's resolutions for 2026 (based on a recent Talker Research poll). Part 1 covers saving money, improving financial wellness, exercising more, and improving physical health.

  • LA2050 is a nonprofit designed to help our community build a more equitable Los Angeles. Its event board features free and low cost events hosted by nonprofits, cultural institutions, and others throughout LA County.

  • LA County Parks & Rec offers free or low cost fitness classes at community centers around the county. If you’re looking for more of a solitary experience, locate one of the 80+ outdoor fitness zones near you.

  • A stairclimber will hate to see you coming if you get fit with Saturday Stairs. The free exercise group for all levels meets at The Hollywood Bowl at 8am every Saturday. Dogs are welcome!

  • Looking for a fun and welcoming run club? Midnight Runners is a global movement with an active group in West LA. Join them for a bootcamp run with music every Monday at 7pm. If you’re not in the area, check your neighborhood or city for a local run club instead.

  • If you’re looking to save money but still treat your body with some relaxation, book an ultra-low-cost massage ($45 for 50 minutes) at a student massage clinic through the National Holistic Institute
