Calling all brew lovers - there are a whopping 11 breweries in Torrance and this itinerary will take you to 3 of them (among other things, we swear).
- Getting There
- Metro: There are several bus routes that will bring you to the area. From Downtown LA, take the silver line to the end and then the 1 bus to Del Amo Mall.
- Driving: Park at the Del Amo Fashion Center garage.
- Morning
- 9:00am: Let’s go to the mall…today! (Robin Sparkles, anyone?) This is no ordinary mall - it’s the 7th largest in the US, so it merits a visit. If you simply must begin your day with coffee, the most convenient spot from the parking garage is Nordstrom’s Ebar. Yes, this is the only AM stop since it’s massive!
- Afternoon
- 12:00pm: Cross the street at the South end of the mall to VEFA Gallery, a museum-style contemporary art gallery, to check out the current exhibitions.
- 12:45pm: Circle around via Sepulveda Blvd to The Brews Hall - Del Amo, a brewery and food hall, to grab some lunch and a midday cold one.
- 1:30pm: Head across Madrona Ave to check out the Madrona Marsh Preserve and Nature Center. Enjoy a little time in nature with a stroll through the wetlands.
- 2:30pm: Walk about 20 minutes North along the neighborhood street of Maple Ave and turn left on Torrance Blvd to reach Tamistea cafe for a Filipino-American treat.
- 3:00pm: Round the corner to the Torrance Art Museum. Check out the contemporary art galleries (free) before heading out to your next stop.
- 5:00pm: Back across Maple Ave, check in for a 1-hour table reservation at South Bay Table Tennis and challenge your friends to a match.
- Evening
- 6:00pm: Just on the other side of California St are Schlob Premium Ales and Absolution Brewing Company. Taste your way across both, grab some bites for dinner, and play a few games with your pals before heading home!
- Tips
- Total walk time: 2 hours
- This itinerary can be done Wednesday-Saturday.
- We recommend booking table tennis in advance.
- If you happen to go to Torrance on the 4th Sunday of the month, check out the Torrance Antique Street Faire - featuring 200+ vendors - in the Old Torrance neighborhood, which unfortunately is not included in this itinerary. While you’re there, be sure to stop at Torrance Bakery!
